A Friend of Jack Rescue
Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, A Friend of Jack Rescue was formed by friends Allie Bradshaw and our own Amanda Logan as a Colorado, foster-based non-profit rescue dedicated to finding loving, lasting homes for unwanted dogs and puppies. Amanda is no longer the director of finance, but she is still actively involved in volunteering for this and other animal welfare organizations.

Baja Animal Sanctuary
The Baja Animal Sanctuary (BAS) is located in Rosarito, Mexico, just 22 miles south of the San Ysidro border. BAS is the only no-kill shelter in northern Mexico, providing a safe haven for dogs and cats. Lana Hock has always been an advocate for animal welfare, from a young age growing up on a farm in Nebraska, to giving an A+ persuasive speech in college about adopting a pet, and the many rescued dogs she has raised over the years. During COVID-19, her beloved Joan Jett the dog passed away peacefully at her San Diego home in October 2020. Enter into the picture, Baja Animal Sanctuary. Lana and her husband Andrew Trujillo have now added Sasha Baja Banks (fka Sasha) to their family, both to give another rescued dog a home, and also to continue to advocate for pit bull breeds and the elimination of BSL. Lana and Andrew will continue to support BAS for years to come.

Established in 2006 by a group of veterinarians and concerned community members, the Foundation for Animal Care and Education (FACE) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity that provides financial grants for animal owners who are unable to afford the cost of their pet’s emergency or critical care. Lana was introduced to the FACE Foundation by their Executive Director, as both FACE and The Hock Group work with veterinary hospitals throughout San Diego County. Veterinary partners make FACE’s work possible by generously discounting their services for qualified FACE patients by at least 25%, Face also fundraises through events and memorial gifts made by donors. Check out the link to Joan Jett's memorial page and learn more about how you can support FACE Foundation as well.
Girls on the Run

Habitat for Humanity
While most everyone has heard of Habitat for Humanity, not everyone has participated or volunteered in the way Amanda has in helping families build and improve places to call home.

Marilynn Smith LPGA Charity Classic
The LPGA Foundation supports golf programs for all ages, scholarship programs, financial assistance, and educational activities for women golfers. The Marilynn Smith Charity Classic put on by the LPGA Foundation raises scholarship money to support their programs for women. Mike and Lana, along with several of our clients, have played in this classic in years past.
Lana has always had a love of music. She studied classical piano for 9 years, played the alto saxaphone, percussion, and sang alto in many musical groups in school and church. From this love of music, came a passion for supporting the performing arts. She was recently nominated to the Board of Directors of Villa Musica, a non-profit performing arts school in San Diego, CA. Villa Musica's mission is to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to explore the joy and lifelong value of music through education, performance and community engagement. Even through the COVID-19 pandemic, VIlla Musica has thrived and moved much of their delivery and performances online. Of specific interest to Lana is the Musical Biography program - recently highlighted in the San Diego Union-Tribune>> - that helps people with dementia and their caregivers to not only create a song list but also make a scrapbook of memories. #livefromthevilla
